Orbs of Emotions
When an emotion pierces through the chambers of the heart,
It becomes
an orb.
Like a tiny
planet consisting of nebulas, it rotates on its axis.
Then after a
while, the orb dissipates.
Sometimes it
breaks.
Regardless, what’s
inside seeps into your veins.
(If you have
mastered these orbs, you might let them out of your system and release them to
the wind)
But then
there are people like me, whose orbs solidify.
We realize
how forgetful we are and how little we could do about it.
So we keep
these tiny little spheres as mementos.
They’re a
reminder, a lesson, a cornerstone.
On our lucky
days, we get shiny orbs which give us meaning – Happy little emotions and
memories. They keep us going.
And we carry
them with us as much as they carry us forward.
On some
other days, though, we get orbs filled with something which resemble a dark ink
– Regrets, lapses and errors. They keep us fixated.
And we carry
them with us as much as they carry us into a spiral.
Some of us,
like me, aren’t very careful.
We collect
these orbs each day, so we end up having hundreds, thousands, or even millions
of them.
Our foolish mistake
is that we let them define who we are.
Our undying curse
is that we aren’t willing to let them go.
Our deepest hope is that someone will teach us how.

Filled with regrets. Consumed with guilt.
Clinging to hope. Loving her deliriously.
