Future and Fear

Will the day come
When this mortal become tiresome
To the mysterious Muse
Who has actually naught to lose?

Or will that evening happen
Where this flesh be cast off from heaven
To an eternal-ephemeral despair
Of finally becoming beyond repair?

Is Erebus watching and waiting
For a perfect moment to ring
That the love of and for a goddess
Is finally burned to ashes?

The fear is here, and the answer is nowhere.
And I have nothing but the flickering flare.
But the stares and the stairs will surely ever stay,
That her shadow will never fade away.

- to the Muse who makes me frightened, thrilled, mad, obsessed, happy, dead, and alive.
